II. Executive Summary (Vision)
The Allen School District seeks to inspire all students to develop into creative, confident, independent, and successful students committed to lifelong learning who are able to interact as responsible and social members of society. Therefore, we seek to empower each student with the knowledge to meet the needs of our ever-changing world.
Our vision is that all students will be provided with a rich technological environment for the purpose of enhancing and strengthening their basic skills, creativity, problem-solving, and school-to work/career skills. We ideally want students to use technology to manage their own learning and become a part of a community of learners that share resources and collaborate to meet the needs of the 21st century. Along with this, teachers will become competent users of technology in order to model their creative use, and ultimately empower students to use technology.

Goal 3: Parental Involvement and Community Involvement
Relationships will be established with parents, local community members, public agencies and entities, education institutions, community-based organizations and private corporations toincrease opportunities for sustained technology access and broad, collaborative learning environments.
Objectives:
Establish a parental portal and connect it to an online student gradebook for parents to have access to their child's progress.

Use various forms of current social media (Facebook, Twitter) that can be utilized to promote various student, school, and community achievements.
Regularly maintain the school website.
Train and encourage teachers to regularly update their teacher pages to reflect upon current lessons and assignments.
Develop a district technology committee that includes parents and members of the community to gather their feedback and suggestions.

Goal 4: Professional Development & Growth for all Staff
All stakeholders including professional staff members should have to complete a given amount of professional development within the three year cycle.
Objectives:
Attend at least two professional development workshops a school year related to new technology.
Use technology itself to grow, learn, and explore different areas of technology and its use in the classroom.
Turn-Key any information gained from professional development to your colleagues. Post any 'How-To' sheets on the school desk top.
Attend monthly PLCs where professional staff will share ideas of implementing technology into lesson plans.
Teachers are to always train their students in the technology before they are expected to use it.

Professional growth & development should be a part of every teachers growth and development, especially in the area of technology.
V. Funding Plan
A. Recurring Funding
Local and State Taxes
School Allocations - salaries for technical support, technology resource teacher supplements
School and department general operating fund budgets
Furniture, fixtures, and equipment funds allocated to schools and departments
State funding
Local government funding
B. Non-recurring Funding
Competitive grant and special fund opportunities
Business and Community partnerships - providing equipment, technical support and training
Parent and business partner donations
Appeal to local business for monetary donations toward school technology
Direct portion of tuition from tuition-based students in district.
VI. Professional Development
Educators’ Proficiency/ Identified Need
Ongoing, sustained, high-quality professional development planned for 2011-2014
Support
Integrating technology into the curriculum
Send a teacher representative from each grade-level or content area to workshops on how to effectively incorporate technology into the classroom. Teacher will turn-key the information to other teachers.
Grade-level and/or content-area team will have release time to develop next steps and then will use EDWeb collaborate and discuss best practices. Staff members will be required to post their 'best practices' on this sight. Staff will provide examples of the technology that they are using in their daily lessons. This is a good forum for teachers to see how they can all improve their technology usage in the classroom.
Learning new software/hardware
Send a limited number of teachers out to workshops on given areas of technology the school has. The teachers can bring their findings back to the principal. The teachers can then turn-key the information obtained from the workshops to other teaching staff members. This can be a cost effective solution for professional development.
Give time during faculty meetings for teachers to address any issues/problems.
Understand Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) regarding Internet and network use, as well as, copyright laws
Have a member of the district technology team come in and give a workshop explaining the Acceptable Usage Policy. During the workshop, professional staff may ask questions of the technology team as they guide the staff through all policies. This is an easy way to clarify any misconceptions for staff members. After staff members attend this mandatory workshop, they will be required to sign off on all of the district's technology rules and regulations.
Email communication with technology administrator, as needed. AUP to be posted on district's web page for easy access for district employees, students, parents, and community.
Collaborating with the Community
Create a committee made up of teachers, parents, and other community members to research ways to help the school become more efficient in technology. This committee could provide PD for teachers or fund raise to get new equipment. It is very important to have all stakeholders involved in any changes ongoing at the school.
Monthly meetings held and frequent check ins at faculty meetings to keep everyone abreast of what is going on.
Evaluation Plan
e Allen School District seek to inspire all students to develop into creative, confident, independent, and successful students committed to lifelong learning who are able to interact as responsible and social members of society.
Evaluation will be an ongoing process throughout our three year technology plan. The following tools will be used as means for evaluation of our technology plan:
Pre and Post action plan surveys by all stakeholders
Including administration, teachers, students, community
Student achievement data
Exhibition of teacher/student learning (projects, web pages, portfolios)
Teacher lesson plans that have integrated technology submitted
Teachers will also be evaluated on the basis of student-work samples
Inventory of hardware obtained
Inventory of software installed
Evaluation of state standards being met
Evaluation of teacher training
Evaluation of those giving workshops
Parent/Teacher/Student feedback to consider changes for future
Evaluation of student test scores in relationship to implementation of new technology
Monthly meetings to assess progress being made (and areas in need of improvement) for all stakeholders
Teachers will be required to put in their annual PDP one goal related to technology use in the classroom. The teacher will meet regularly with the administration and in their grade level PLC to work towards achieving the goal. At the end of the year evaluation the teacher will provide examples of student work to verify the completion of the goal.
Administrators will be held accountable for providing enough professional development opportunities for the staff. The staff will fill out a survey at the end of the school year and give their thoughts on the progress of technology in the district. This data along with parent and student surveys will be used to plan future instruction. A job well done!! Looks great!! Good job!! Great work!!
